The Housing Market Hit Snooze on Spring
Normally by now the real estate market is tossing offer petals in the air, doing cartwheels into open houses, but 2025 is off to a wilting start 🥀. Buy whyyyyy? Here are 4 reasons:
1. Jobs are ⬇️
With employment opportunities getting pruned, a lot of buyers are left in their seedling era, not quite ready to sprout into homeownership 🌱.

2. Inventory is ⬆️
Since sellers are guarding their 3% interest acorns like squirrels, it would seem like housing inventory would be low, but it’s actually back up to pre-covid’s “normal” levels for the 1st time… only took 6 years 🥴.

3. Demand is ⬇️
Listings are getting fewer offers than they did last spring. Buyer demand isn’t blooming fast enough to keep prices from falling into a field of pastel flowers 💐.

4. Interest Rates are Still ⬆️
Rates are stagnant in the air like spring pollen, making everyone a little uncomfortable. 🤧

Want to sell? It’s hard to tell whether the values will continue to trend down or rebound during the summer months. My gut says don’t wait.
Want to buy? Place an offer as soon as you see a property you like. It’s better to be the first, before other buyers wake up. Listings are getting offers, but buyers are waiting a few days before placing them in this market.
